Peloton or Feloton, does it matter?

Not everyone has a budget for a Peloton bike, myself included. But guess what? You can still get a damn good workout with your bobo bike!

Here’s my money saving setup plan....
PROS: Great price, easy setup, well made
CONS: No fancy screen attached, no cadence sensor
Peloton Digital Membership $12.99 per month
Download the app to your TV, iPad or Phone and slap that bad boy up in front of your bike. Hell, duck tape it if you need to.
PROS: Connects to an app on your phone. What I love about Peloton is that they call out a range of where your cadence should be. With this sensor you will know exactly when to speed up or slow down. If your flying past where your should be. If you’re going over the cadence number then increase your resistance. If you’re pushing too hard and can’t make it close to the cadence number then back off the resistance.
CONS: It does require a battery, which it comes with and you will eventually have to replace. It's not the same as a screen on your bike, but keep your phone near and it won't matter.
In addition to this $12.99 plan, I also subscribe to Les Mills on Demand for $9.99 a month. This gives me access to my favorite weighted workout program... Bodypump. I'll save that for another day though...
Final Thoughts...
I do miss my gym friends, the classes, the all around energy that you feed off of. But, as a busy working mom, I was finding it harder and harder to navigate through a plan that gave me that time away.
I’ve always been a gym lover. And hands down would choose that over trying to workout at home... one kid hanging off my back like a parachute then catapulting off backwards like a flying squirrel landing on the bed, meanwhile the other joins in the routine weights in hand as if he's training for the Arnold. I digress.
How do make this chaos work? Put your weights, bike, whatever in a place that you see them every single day. I'm not talking upstairs in attic, trust me I went that route, had a whole at home gym outta sight and outta mind. Today my mini gym is setup right next to by bed, in front of the TV. I have no excuse.
Keeping the kids occupied will always be a challenge no matter what, that's life, that's being a mom. So ask them to workout with you, let them play in the bathtub, while your near and can see them of course, or pop on Johnny Test and your golden for at least 45 minutes.
Gym Rat Total: $900 per year
Felton Home Setup Total: $460 first year, then $156 after that.
Everyone is different, but for now, this is what works best for me.
Love always,
Shellie
